Summer Vacation and Remembering to Relax

Approaching the end of my summer vacation in South Jersey and all I have to show for it is spending time with people I love and haven’t seen in two years, riding around in a ’69 Mustang, eating yellow watermelon and yellow tomatoes and white Jersey corn and the greenest, freshest lima beans, picking tomatoes in the garden only to realize the effort is nearly futile (have you ever seen a tomato plant that is over 6 feet tall?! Mutiply by 100 and that is way too many tomatoes), going out on the boats and hopefully kayaking tomorrow if it doesn’t thunderstorm. I actually thought I would do a lot of work and business planning while I was here. But it turned out what I really needed was just a vacation. We talked about some plans and goals, but we also slept in late and watched Deadliest Catch together (I gave DC a pass from my no-reality-show-watching because it’s occupational reality and doesn’t include “Jersey” or “Housewife” in the title).

Here are a few pictures until I return next week…

Southern New Jersey (along the various shore points) is an amazing place to visit. It’s unfortunate it gets such a bad name from all of those “Jersey” reality shows you mentioned. :)
    Enjoy…

I know, it’s so much better here than what they show on TV, although some of the stereotypes are funny because they’re true :)
